The reinforcing idea behind their inventions is that they were to emulate exactly what the people wanted. More relatable inventions meant more accessibility and therefor a wider audience of consumption. Steve Jobs makes note of this(sp) in his interview stating “Right now, computers make our lives easier. They do work for us in fractions of a second that would take us hours. They increase the quality of life, some of that by simply automating drudgery and some of that by broadening our possibilities. As things progress, they’ll be doing more and more for us” (9-10). Jobs recognized that he was able to capture a huge audience because of the magnitude of his invention.(ic)
Example 2:
Jobs speaks(sp) about the youth that generally surrounds the pool of visionary minds(ic).
“It’s often the same with any new, revolutionary thing. People get stuck as they get older. Our minds are sort of electrochemical computers. Your thoughts construct patterns like scaffolding in your mind. You are really etching chemical patterns. In most cases, people get stuck in those patterns, just like grooves in a record, and they never get out of them. It’s a rare person who etches grooves that are other than a specific way of looking at things, a specific way of questioning things” (Playboy, 15).
The importance of youth in the industry of invention cannot be understated.
My first example of a quote integrated into my paper reinforces my thesis and helps to demonstrate the statement I made about connecting with a huge audience through business savvy techniques. The second example of integration I used is slightly different because a use a quote that speaks to my point by drawing the reverse of what I am stating. ( I state that youth lead to innovation, and the quote explains how with age comes less creativity).
